Happy Valentines Day to You All!
That being said, I have to admit that I'm not really into the Valentines Day thing. Hubby and I might have a
nice meal together or something small like that, but we are not huge on the gift
giving.
Once, for Valentines Day Hubby had flowers sent to me. He was out with
Best Bud who was buying flowers for his wife (they were in the middle of a fight
at the time and Best Bud was looking to make up with her) and Hubby decided to
surprise me.
I was surprised and I thanked Hubby. He only got me the flowers because
they came in a very cute vase that was those little M&M characters from the
commercials. He asked me if I wanted him to get me flowers every year
after that. I told him no, flowers are depressing because they wilt and
die. If he wants to get me anything get me a flowering plant, something
that will live for as long as I nurture it, something that will bring beauty into
my life for many, many years.
I also hate it if I'm in a fight with Hubby and he brings me flowers or something else to make up with me. It's like he's trying to bribe me. Like whatever my feelings or opinions are, they don't matter because I'm so superficial the moment you get me a gift I'll forget all about it and forgive him. Yeah, right. If he's wanting to apologize, then do so. If you feel a gesture must be made, then help to clean the house or something. Don't try to buy me off. I hate that.
